of square form with canted corners, the straight sides sloping gently inward towards the slightly raised flared foot of conforming shape, the angular shoulder rising to a tall waisted neck, covered overall in a greyish-blue glaze with fine craquelure, the footrim dressed in a dark brown wash, the base inscribed with an underglaze-blue six-character reign mark

The mouthrim and some areas of the shoulder have been slightly retouched, probably to stabilise some glaze flakes. There is a star crack running across the base, extending to the lower part of the vase (up to 8 cm from the base). The cracks have been stabilised and with only some tiny losses. The glaze has yellow tinges. The actual colour is slightly more bluish than the catalogue illustration.
