相關資料

The artist worked in the court of Landgraf Ludwig VIIII at Darmstadt.  On the reverse of the canvas can be found the old German inscription: Im Forst Allerheiligen ist dieser / Schauffel-Hirsch von J.V.D. dem /  regierendem Herrn Landgraven / zu Hessen Darmstadt im August / 1749 geschossen worden. / Beigemalter / Prospect ist das / F¿rstl. Jagt Hauss / Cranigstein [in the forest of Allerheiligen, this deer was shot by J.H.D., the ruling landgrave of Hessen-Darmstadt in August 1749. Painted in the background is the royal castle of Kranichstein].
