A small Wisteria wood pillar timepiece, Japanese, mid-19th century
the weight driven movement with verge and balance escapement, finely flower-pierced front plate flanked by turned finials, the escape wheel and the third wheel supported by similar turned posts, the case with glazed hood, the trunk containing the weight with attached pointer for indicating the time against thirteen movable plaques, key drawer in the base, accompanied by the original wood traveling box.
