Like many others who have caught the bug, Yassmin’s love affair with wine started with travel when she visited a winery in Tuscany while on a road trip. At the time, Yassmin was on track for an illustrious career on Wall Street and she developed over 6 years of experience at Citigroup as Vice President in Foreign Exchange Sales. In that capacity, Yassmin managed relationships with and delivered currency advisory and execution services to Institutional Clients in Latin America.
Yassmin’s passion for wine drove her to make a big career change from Wall Street to 72nd Street in 2016. Since joining Sotheby’s Wine she has been involved in a number of special projects including creating the 2017 Sotheby’s Wine Market Report, a widely distributed annual publication which analyzes results and illustrates relevant trends for the fine wine and spirits market. She has also developed experience in the auction process and was involved in a number of high-profile sales including The Don Stott Cellar: 50 Years of Collecting, Part III, Magnificent Wines from the Cellars of Park B. Smith, and The Cellar from the Estate of Jerry Perenchio.
Yassmin graduated from Middlebury College with a major in Economics and a minor in French and an affinity for languages, speaking Spanish, French and Farsi. She has certifications with the American Sommelier Association and the WSET. Yassmin is also an ardent foodie and is especially passionate about food-and wine-related travel.
