《朦胧的日子》绘于1998年，这是奈良美智创作生涯中的一个重要时期。可爱的大头女孩是奈良的经典标志，反复出现在他的作品中。画中小女孩双颊红润，头上裹着绷带，但仍站得笔直而坚定，绿色的眼睛仿佛穿透人心。身材矮小的她即使受伤，也决不屈服，拒绝展露痛苦神色，正好呼应奈良作品的核心——叛逆精神和敢于反抗的年轻人。

《朦胧的日子》将于2023年5月18日「NOW当代艺术晚间拍卖」登场。今季纽约拍卖的合作伙伴为CELINE。
