of inverted pear form, the lower body and upper rim chased with shell-form fluting, the body applied  with a cartouche of scrolls, flowerheads, dolphins and shells flanked by sprays of seaweed and enclosing an etched presentation inscription, the handles formed as open-mouthed dolphins, raised on a domed foot applied with clam shells spaced with seaweed, conforming base rim
marked on base and numbered 536 and date symbol for 1900

Description

The presentation inscription reads: "New York Yacht Club Cruise 1900, Race for Commodore's Cups, Prize for Schooners Won by QUISSETTA." Quissetta, 96 feet overall, was designed by William Gardner in 1896 and was owned by the Lippit brothers of Providence, R.I.
