Description

The Imperial Order of the Lion and the Sun was instituted by Fa'th 'Ali Shah in 1808 to honour foreign officials. This document gives Émile Desages the order of the Lion and the Sun "In gratitude for his efforts in renewing friendship between the two nations".

Émile Desages (1793-1850) was a French diplomat, initially dispatched to Poland,  before being sent to Brasil and later to Constantinople (between 1821 and 1826). Later on he became the first attache from the French Foreign office in Persia. He was decorated with the Legion d'Honneur, and l'Ordre de Charles III.
