Description
Hattusa refers to the ruins of the imperial capital of the powerful Hittite Empire (1600-1200 B.C.E), an ancient civilization in modern day Turkey. This present image documents the longest surviving Hittite hieroglyphic inscription that dates back to the collapse of the empire. With its exact meaning lost, the indecipherable inscription nevertheless allures world travellers to experience the monumental ruins of a bygone civilisation.
