The reference 6262 can be considered as the bridge between the early and the late vintage Rolex Daytona models. Indeed, it combines the pump pushers such as the 6239, the first Daytona, and the 727 Valjoux calibre, the final evolution of the movement which was also housed in the 6263 and 6265 models.
The present watch features the iconic "Paul Newman" dial. It was named after the actor was said to have worn one in the 1969 while promoting the film 'Winning'.
The three-colour black Paul Newman dial is rarely seen on a 6262 as it is usually fitted with the two-colour panda version.
The black dial is perfectly complemented by the red outer track and Daytona signature above the subsidiary dial at 6 o'clock, giving a masculine twist to the piece.
