Description
Accompanied by a Certificate of Origin and an Extract from the Archives confirming the date of sale on December 11th, 2003 with white gold Breguet numerals and dot minute track. Together with a Republic and Canton of Geneva chronometer certification, Patek Philippe booklets, a leather bi-fold, a polishing cloth, a setting pin, a key, and a presentation box with outer packaging.
Produced in a limited series from 1994 to 2010, Patek Philippe's Ref. 5016 is a modern horological marvel, exemplifying the firm's engineering excellence. It combines the most highly prized functions including a tourbillon, minute repeater, perpetual calendar with retrograde date, and moon phases. Consisting of more than 500 miniscule parts within the renowned Calatrava case, the model once held the title of the most complicated Patek Philippe wristwatch ever produced. It was surpassed by the Ref. 5002 Sky Moon Tourbillon in 2001, followed by Ref. 5207 in 2008.
Within the heart of this masterpiece is cal. R TO 27 PS QR, a hand-wound movement with a tourbillon regulator which rotates on the same axis as the balance and fourth wheel. This complicated configuration is situated at the back in order to minimize the exposure from daylight, and it therefore extends the longevity of the movement and oil. In addition to this complicated movement, Ref. 5016 houses a striking mechanism with superb craftsmanship, producing the chiming of the hours, quarters, and minutes with sublime resonance.
