CHATEAU HAUT BRION 1983
Château Haut Brion 1983
Pessac-Léognan (Graves), 1er Cru Classé
Lot 361: u. 6x3cm, 4x3.5cm, 1x4cm, 1 level into the neck, slightly scuffed labels and capsules, 2 slightly raised corks, 1 corroded capsule, excellent color and clarity, Lot 362: u. 1x3cm, 3x3.5cm, 5x4cm, 2x4.5cm, 1x5cm, scuffed labels, scuffed and soiled capsules, 3 slightly raised corks, slight signs of seepage, excellent color and clarity

In 2017, and after 3 weeks without Claret (don't ask - Retsina is pretty good), an inebriating, spicy, rich bouquet of classy earthiness, enveloping you with its whiffs of cigar tobacco. On the palate, I cannot remember it being so opulent, having filled out and become richer with bottle age. It has a mouth-coating, velvet texture, strong personality and aromatic intensity - a fantastic sensation all round. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
