robustly potted, of semi-hemispherical profile supported on a stepped foot and recessed base, rising to a broad everted rim, painted on the interior with a central medallion enclosing a meiren dressed in a light blue and pink robe, accompanied by two attendants in a garden, encircled on the cavetto by four barbed cartouches enclosing sprigs of peony, lotus, chrysanthemum and plum blossoms, alternating with detached sprays of stylised lotus above a stone chime, all reserved on a rich ruby-red sgraffiato feathery ground, the flat rim decorated with alternating iron-red bats and lotus flowers on a light green ground, the lipped rim painted in gilt, the exterior painted with five fluttering iron-red bats reserved on a turquoise ground
