Description

First Edition. Jonathan Edwards was one of America's most influential early philosophical theologian.  "Sinners in the Hands of An Angry God" was first preached to Edward's own congregation in Northampton, Massachusetts, and then again on 8 July 1741 in Enfield, Connecticut. The sermon—Edwards' most famous work—was typical of the Great Awakening. Emphasising the belief that Hell is a real, Edwards, through the striking imagery and language of his sermon, sought to awaken audiences to the realities he believed awaited them if they did not call on God for salvation.
