set with facet-cut diamonds with foil backing, the openwork design forming flowerheads and two birds, with a hinged pendant in the form of a bird with spinel drop, polychrome enamelling on the reverse with foliate motifs and birds on each setting

Description

An almost identical example, with the exception of enamelling to the reverse, attributed to 1750-1800, is in the Al-Thani collection (see From the Great Mughals to the Maharajas: Jewels from Al Thani collection, exh. cat. Grand Palais, 29 March-5 June 2017, no.187.)
