There is dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The Virgin's head has been reattached and a joint with dark residues is visible around the neck. The throne may have had rear legs, which have now been lost. The surface is uneven in this area. The Virgin's torso also appears to have been reattached, as there is a restored joint running through the arms and upper body. Christ's head has also been reattached; the head may be a replacement. The Virgin's proper right hand is lost. There are also some losses to Christ's proper right fingers. There are remnants of old polychromy, particularly at the Virgin's sides. There are some losses to the lower edges underneath the Virgin's feet. There is general wear to the surface, including some abrasions at the Virgin's feet. There are chips and losses to the pinnacles of the Virgin's crown. There are some cement residues to the sculpture, including at the Virgin's side and her back. The sculpture has a metal support.
