with a later dial and movement, within a rectangular stepped case centered by a vase of flowers of various hardstones including lapis, Sicilian jasper, granito orbiculare and porphyry.

A comparable clock case decorated with a variety of pietre dure to form a cherry tree on a black marble ground was in the collection of Dr. Alexandre Benchoufi, sold, Sotheby's, New York, November 9, 2006, lot 154.
