the steep sides rising from a tall circular foot, the exterior lacquered and inlaid with mother-of-pearl with scenes of geese in a vast marsh with rocks and various plants interspersed with calm waters under a sky of scrolled clouds, the porcelain body of the interior painted in bright enamels with butterflies, insects, and various blossoms including chrysanthemum, peony, rose, prunus, lily, and other varieties on a white ground below a rim border of cobalt blue with gilt archaistic birds reserved on rosette-diaper
