Description

The series of large solo musicians comprised seven figures - "among the most notable figures in 18th century German porcelain," according to E. Pauls-Eisenbeiss, (German porcelain of the 18th century, vol.II, p.280). Six figures from the series, excluding the present model, are in the Pauls Collection, Basel (E. Pauls-Eisenbeiss, op.cit., pp.280-87). See also H.D. Flach, Ludwigsburger Porzellan, p.282, no.505, for other recorded examples of the model.
