Sotheby’s Impressionist & Modern Art Evening sale features a breathtaking array of works from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. From a bird’s eye view of the Parisian streets painted by Gustave Caillebotte in 1878 to a delicate depiction of Pierre Bonnard’s muse at her toilette to a vivacious large-scale Mousquetaire by Pablo Picasso, whose braggadocio leaps from the canvas, the paintings, drawings and sculpture assembled convey the complexity and dynamism of this crucial period.
