Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art

We are delighted to announce our forthcoming sale of Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art in London on 12 July 2018. We will offer paintings, drawings and watercolours by a wide selection of artists, including examples of not only the Pre-Raphaelites but also Classical Revival and British Impressionist works.

Among the highlights of the sale is John William Waterhouse’s The Siren of 1901, an achingly beautiful depiction of youth and romance. With his modern interpretation of classical myths and English poetry and fascination with emotional drama, Waterhouse’s work remains perennially popular. The Siren was last seen publicly in 2008 when it was included in the Royal Academy’s blockbuster Waterhouse exhibition.
