Treasures from Chatsworth, Episode 9: Design Through the Ages: 'The Counterpart Bench' and George III Coronation Chair

Form and function go hand-in-hand in great furnishings, whether they be antiques of royal provenance or cutting-edge creations by today’s most innovative makers. As this episode reveals, at Chatsworth, functional objects have always been valued for both their beauty and their utility.

This summer, Sotheby's is honored to present Treasures from Chatsworth – a rare, public exhibition of works from the fabled Devonshire Collection of Chatsworth House. Free of charge and open to the public, Treasures from Chatsworth will be on view from 28 June through 13 September 2019 in Sotheby’s renovated New York galleries, located at 1334 York Avenue.
