The Most Famous Coin in the World Comes to Auction

8 June | New York

In this episode of Expert Voices, join Coin specialist David Tripp in an exploration of the famous 1933 Double Eagle – America’s last Gold coin struck for circulation. This is the only 1933 Double Eagle monetized and issued by the United States Mint. It is also the only example that the United States Government has ever authorized, or ever intends to authorize, for private ownership. The coin will be offered alongside the British Guiana and The Inverted Jenny Plate Block in Three Treasures – Collected by Stuart Weitzman, taking place 8 June 2021 at Sotheby’s New York.
