Portrait of a Lady: Victoria Beckham’s Passion for Old Masters

London | 4 & 5 July 2018

Find out how a visit to The Frick Collection in New York aroused Victoria Beckham’s passion for Old Master portraits and how this new love is now inspiring her future fashion designs. Victoria Beckham hosted an exhibition of her favourite works from our upcoming Old Masters sales (4 and 5 July, London) at her Dover Street store in London. Portraits were in high demand during the sale with Sir Peter Paul Rubens’ depiction of a Venetian Nobleman achieving a landmark price for a single portrait by the artist of £5,416,00. The portrait of a man with a spotted fur collar featuring in Victoria Beckham’s store sold for £2,410,000, and the late 15th century portrait of Mary of Burgundy achieved £2,050,000.
