Natalia Goncharova and Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes

On 1 December, Sotheby’s London will offer a single-owner collection of over 250 works by Natalia Goncharova, one of the most important artists of the Russian avant-garde, including some of the her groundbreaking set and costume designs for Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes. Anna Meadmore, Ballet Historian and Archivist for the Royal Ballet School, discusses Goncharova’s legacy and the impact she had on costume and set design.
