Thrown and fired at the Imperial kilns and painted at the Forbidden City's workshops, this gold-pink falangcai bowl is among the very finest enamelled porcelains made for the personal use of the Kangxi emperor. Once belonging to celebrated collector Henry M. Knight and not seen on the market for over thirty years, it is a highlight of Sotheby’s upcoming sale Imperial Alchemy The H.M. Knight Falangcai Bowl (3 April, Hong Kong).
