The Incredible Discovery of a Lost Rosso Drawing

LONDON | 3 JULY

The drawing bears an old attribution to Michelangelo, but Sotheby’s Specialist Cristiana Romalli instantly recognised this as the work of the famous Florentine master, Rosso Fiorentino. In this First Look, find out how Cristiana discovered the origins of the work in the writing of 16th century biographer Giorgio Vasari. ‘The Visitation’ by Rosso Fiorentino is a highlight of our upcoming sale Old Master Drawings and British Works on Paper (4 July | London).
