Installation of "A Lost Future" at the Rubin Museum

A Lost Future: Matti Braun (on view through February 4, 2019) transforms a gallery at the Rubin Museum into an immersive lake that visitors can traverse via a series of tree discs. R.T./ S.R./V.S. (2003–present) references the lotus pond in the first scene of Ray’s screenplay for The Alien, in which a friendly, catalytic alien from another time and place lands in a small village in Bengal. This installation time-lapse video takes you behind the scenes with art handlers, curators, and engineers to see how this unique artwork came to life at the Rubin.
