How the Collection of Hardie Beloff Grapples with Germany’s Postwar Legacy

NEW YORK | 19 MAY 2022

Over the course of forty years, Hardie Beloff assembled a collection that spanned continents and cultures. His acquisitions brought together exceptional works by some of the most celebrated artists of the Post-War era. At the collection's core is the greatest grouping of works by Georg Baselitz in private hands, which together succinctly articulate the German artist's inimitable oeuvre, as well as highly notable works by Anselm Kiefer. The collection will be offered in Sotheby's Contemporary Evening Auction, 19 May 2022.
