A fine selection of Roman baroque bronze sculptures feature in Sotheby’s upcoming Old Master Sculpture and Works of Art auction (28 June – 6 July). In this latest Sotheby’s video, Head of European Sculpture Alex Kader introduces some outstanding 18th century Italian sculptures including a striking work of the ‘Baptism of Christ’, by famed sculptor, Alessandro Algardi, a wondrous bronze of ‘Hercules’ by Giovanni Francesco Susini, nephew of the great Antonio Susini, and an impressive historic ‘Diana’ which is recorded in the Medici archives.
