A Classic Sanyu Nude from the 1930s

Female nudes were an important theme in Chinese artist Sanyu’s creative career. In this episode of Sotheby’s Stories, discover how Sanyu found inspiration in Paris for his bold presentations of the female body. Painted in the 1930s, ‘Nu Rose Sur Tissus Chinois’ is one of Sanyu’s classic works and will be a highlight of our upcoming Modern Art Evening Sale (5 October | Hong Kong).
