Catalogue Note
Sam Moyer’s practice has evolved from its more process-based origins to address formal and theoretical issues regarding the construction of painting. Issues of scale and space are critical throughout her production. Glory is a unique composition of variegated sections of repurposed marble with hand-painted canvas. Moyer incorporates a variety of forms and gestures that reveal an abiding interest in her artistic forebears ranging from David Smith to Robert Smithson, and Agnes Martin to Eva Hesse.

A portion of proceeds will benefit the artist. For inquiries or to place a phone or absentee bid, please email bid@thecontemporaryaustin.org .
