Sotheby’s Approved Watches – Service Warranty Terms and Conditions

Your purchase of a Sotheby’s Approved pre-owned watch includes a two (2) year limited service warranty from the date you complete your purchase on Sotheby’s Buy-Now Marketplace (the “Purchase Date”).

In the event you encounter an issue with your Sotheby’s Approved watch within two (2) years from the Purchase Date, Sotheby’s will repair, replace, have repaired or have replaced any damaged parts. This warranty does not cover damage caused by water, shock, abuse, or excessive handling. If you have a third-party perform any service on your Sotheby’s Approved watch, if the watch is opened, or if any parts (other than strap or bracelet components) are added to the watch, the two (2) year limited service warranty is null and void. Sotheby’s will determine, in its sole discretion, whether the two (2) year limited service warranty applies to any Sotheby’s Approved watch after a warranty claim is requested.

If a Sotheby’s Approved pre-owned watch is purchased subject to a remaining original equipment manufacturer (OEM) warranty, and the OEM warranty is in effect for less than two (2) years after the Purchase Date, then Sotheby’s will assume responsibility as the warranty provider from the time starting at the expiration of the OEM warranty period through the date that is two (2) years after the Purchase Date. When a warranty claim for a Sotheby’s Approved pre-owned watch purchased subject to an OEM warranty is recorded, Sotheby’s submits a warranty claim to an OEM for their evaluation and acceptance or rejection of such claim. The warranty terms and conditions are as stated in the terms for the applicable OEM. Any watch returning from service by an OEM are thereafter warranted under the OEM’s service warranty, which supersedes the terms and conditions (including the duration) of Sotheby’s limited service warranty.
