It may only be a few months into the new year, but 2019 has already proven to be historic for women artists at Sotheby’s. At a reception celebrating the By Women, For Tomorrow’s Women benefit auction, Oprah Winfrey stated that she would be making a conscious effort to collect more work by female artists. This March, Sotheby’s Prints & Multiple Online auction presents a wonderful opportunity to not only begin your art collection but also acquire works by celebrated female artists across genres. In honor of Women’s History Month, Sotheby’s Prints specialists selected eight works by Judy Chicago, Mary Cassatt, Elizabeth Peyton and more trailblazing female artists.
