Masterworks Draw Crowds During Three Part Tour of Texas

On 3 October, Sotheby’s celebrated the first of a three-stop tour of Texas at Houston’s famed McClain Gallery with a preview of highlights from upcoming sales of American ArtFine JewelsContemporary Art and 19th Century European Art. Also on view were works offered to benefit the Cantor Fitzgerald Fund for Hurricane Harvey relief. Aliyya Stude of Sotheby’s Houston and Sotheby's Senior specialists Liz Sterling, Peter Kloman, Molly Ott Ambler and Catharine Becket mingled with guests as they viewed an array of masterworks from an Albert Bierstadt landscape to an iconic Andy Warhol Campbell’s Soup Can. Jewellery lovers were invited to try on dazzling pieces from the upcoming 17 October Fine Jewels auction. Selected artworks from the Houston viewing travelled to Dallas's Kirk Hopper Fine Art on 4 October and The Racquet Club in Midland on 5 October. Click ahead to see images from the nights.
