Launch Slideshow

For the company’s first sale at the newly-redesigned Petersen Automotive Museum on 8 December, RM Sotheby’s has created a unique auction catalogue inspired by the wild aesthetics of Kustom Kulture and reflecting the “Hot Rod Magazine” empire built by Petersen Museum Founder and namesake Robert E. Petersen, more than 70 years ago. The auction features more than 60 eclectic, highly desirable motor cars, including an immaculate recreation of George Barris’s iconic Batmobile, representing a cross-section of important eras and categories in collector car history, against the backdrop of a Museum dedicated to preserving Los Angeles as the capital of car creativity, culture, and consumption.
