L eading the December sale of Ancient Egyptian Sculpture & Works of Art is the 18th Dynasty Granite Bust from an Enthroned Figure of the Goddess Sekhmet. The present statue probably once stood among over six hundred images of Sekhmet, which lined the courts and passageways of the great temple Amenhotep III built in honor of the goddess Mut at Thebes.
