The Venice Biennale 2019

The 58th Venice Biennale, curated this year by Ralph Rugoff, and entitled 'May You Live in Interesting Times' will open to visitors on 7 May.

Once again, Sotheby’s will take up residence at The Gritti Palace for the duration of the Vernissage; perfectly positioned on the Grand Canal to give our guests and clients easy and exclusive access to the openings, events and parties at venues across the city such as the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Arsenale and the Biennale Giardini.

Join us as we follow the opening week’s events, and carefully select highlights from the pavilions to museum shows, restaurants, off-site performances and site-specific installations. Ahead of the opening, read our guides to help you plan your visit and experience the very best the city, and the Biennale, has to offer.
