T he 62nd edition of Milan’s design fair, Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano, from 16-21 April 2024, is launching a new cultural programme, with renowed filmmaker David Lynch as guest of honour. The most anticipated installation will be his Thinking Rooms, imagined as the threshold to an immersive, meditative realm.
To accompany the famed furniture fair, Sotheby’s will present a refined selection of 20th- and 21st-century design on 16-23 April. It will begin the first of two new annual auctions organized by Sotheby’s Italy.
Two-star chef Davide Oldani – founder of D’O in Milan and one of the leading authorities on contemporary Italian cuisine – will present his picks from Sotheby’s online auction, while select highlights, from Barovier and Toso to Arman, Gio Ponti to Antonio Cagianelli, Isamu Noguchi to Alessandro Mendini, will be on view at Sotheby’s Milan 18-21 April.
