S otheby's is honored to present Property from the Seymour and Evelyn Holtzman Collection across a series of Live and Online auctions beginning in the Fall 2024 through Spring 2025. Thoughtfully assembled for decades, the Holtzman collection features some of greatest artisans of the 20th century such as Norman Rockwell, Pablo Picasso and Louis Comfort Tiffany. A native of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania where he lived with his beloved wife Evelyn, Seymour Holtzman was an American entrepreneur and businessman. The owner of the Chicago-based Jewelry retailer CD Peacock, Inc., the Holtzmans always had a penchant for fine objects which reflected their discerning taste as collectors. Dedicated philanthropists, the Holtzmans were contributors to the Cleveland Clinic and Seymour was honored as "Humanitarian of the Year" by the Cardinal Cushing School and Training Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Two masterworks of the 20th Century, Pablo Picasso’s Tête d'homme à la casquette and Norman Rockwell’s The Antique Hunter: Cover for the Saturday Evening Post, July 31, 1937 are exciting highlights of our Modern Evening Auction this November 2024, presented alongside examples of European, American and Latin American Art ranging from Impressionism through Abstract Expressionism and all of the avant-garde movements in between. Additional works by Norman Rockwell and a gem by Tamara de Lempicka star in the Modern Day Auction.
