Diego Giacometti: Génie de la Nature & Highlights from Upcoming Auctions and Private Sale

S otheby’s is proud to present a rare collection of Diego Giacometti furniture from an important Swiss private collection, commissioned directly by the artist between 1971 and 1985. A testimony of Giacometti’s creativity during the most prolific period of his career, the collection will be offered at auction in Paris on 23 November.

The exhibition will also feature three spectacular, large-scale abstract paintings by Gerhard Richter from the Helga and Walther Lauffs Collection, to be offered in the Contemporary Art Evening Sale in London on 14 October 2021. Alongside this exceptional group the exhibition will feature a curated selection of highlights from the upcoming international sales in London and Paris, including a powerful nail sculpture by Günther Uecker; an arresting portrait by George Condo, French Ecology, which was painted in Claude Picasso’s apartment in Paris; two sumptuous portraits by Andy Warhol; an impressive work by Mark Tobey from 1967; as well as a selection of works available for Private Sale including Francis Picabia and Amoako Boafo.
