T his coming March, Sotheby’s will pay tribute to Jean-Marie Rossi, a leading figure in the world of Parisian antiques, through a selection of works from the Aveline gallery on Place Beauvau and from his personal collection housed in his remarkable residence in Rueil-Malmaison. Brought together for the first time, these works will be offered in a unique sale.

Conceived as a true retrospective, the sale highlights the finest furniture, paintings, and objects that marked an extraordinary career. Faithful to Jean-Marie Rossi’s universe, it celebrates what defined his signature: a dialogue between periods, styles, and disciplines, guided by an unerring eye, uncompromising quality, and a boldness universally acknowledged.

Masterpieces of 18th-century French furniture — including works attributed to such great names as André-Charles Boulle, Bernard II Van Riesen Burgh and Adam Weisweiler— thus stand alongside more modern and contemporary creations by Jean Fautrier, Paul Jouve, Carlo Bugatti, and many others.
