his December 2025, Sotheby’s presents a trio of remarkable and eclectic sales spanning Paris, London, and New York. In Paris, Treasures—one of our most important annual events—will unveil an exceptional selection of the finest furniture, silver, and ceramics from the 17th to 19th centuries, each piece distinguished by prestigious provenance and the most precious materials. In London, we are honoured to showcase the erudite and cosmopolitan collection of Sven A. Behrendt, whose wide-ranging interests—from Old Master Paintings to seventeenth- and eighteenth-century books and Chinese sculpture—invite collectors on a journey around the world through the objects that shaped his global vision. Meanwhile, in New York, Sotheby’s will host the landmark auction Swinging on a Star: The Private Collection of Kathryn and Bing Crosby, offering an intimate glimpse into the lives and legacies of two Hollywood icons through fine art, collectibles, rare Fabergé pieces, and deeply personal objects drawn from the Crosby family’s private holdings. Together, these three sales celebrate connoisseurship, curiosity, and the timeless beauty of exceptional collecting.
