In 2018, this has that biscuity, orange nose and mature depth, both sweet and broad. We, very naughtily, tasted and savoured it and then added a good dose of the 1990 that we had to hand - the result was astounding, combining profound flavour with distinct, forceful life. I do hope I shall not be arrested. Finest and Rarest Wines | The Astonishing Cellar of Doctor S, Part II

Krug Collection 1988 Level within foil, excellent appearance, packed in presentation owc within oc 21 different growths. Pinot Noir 50%, Meunier 18%, Chardonnay 32%. Pure, classic, very acacia nose, more dominated by fresh apricotty fruit than toast. Fresh hawthorn too. So young and fresh on the palate. Will last decades. Very crisp. Serena Sutcliffe, MW 1 bt (owc) Provenance: The collection, acquired from reputable UK wine merchants, was started well over 40 years ago and since original purchase has only been moved once - for the purposes of this sale. The Doctor established deep, personal contacts with the great and the good in the UK wine trade at that time, and it was from them that he acquired his extensive knowledge of Fine Wine. All the original invoices have been kept on record, together with initial offers, newsletters etc. The sale opens with a swathe of Armand Rousseau and Georges Roumier, which is followed in alphabetical order by grower by the likes of Marquis d'Angerville, Ghislaine Barthod, Jean Grivot, Anne Gros, Henri and Georges Jayer and Emmanuel Rouget. White Burgundy is represented by Chablis from Dauvissat in profusion, and choice gems from Lafon and Leflaive. Underpinning all this are treasures from the Rhône, Bordeaux and Champagne, including masses of Krug and Pol Roger. The majority of this collection has benefitted from high-quality professional storage at London City Bond. The last 60 or so lots, stored in our Greenford warehouse, were removed from the Doctor's own cellars, naturally cool and damp, and located under an imposing traditional English country house. The Doctor sought to delay the effects of the high humidity of his own cellars in a number of ways, such as wrapping the bottles in clingfilm or plastic bags, or through the use of hair lacquer or varnish applied to the labels. Details of what was done is given in each lot description. The condition and the colour of the wine is remarkable. In either case, the quality of the storage is evidenced by the generally excellent levels in these mature bottles. Krug, Clos du Mesnil 1990 3 bts - Reverse ullages: 1cm, in original tissues, packed in individual original wooden cases within their original outer carton, Taiwan importer's back labels 1 bt - Reverse ullage: 1cm, very slightly scuffed label, in original tissue, packed in individual original wooden case within its original outer carton, Taiwan importer's back label In 2011, the bouquet of this and the 1990 Krug are, amazingly, becoming more similar. Mandarins and fresh linen on the nose. Then a touch of walnuts and honey. Fabulous freshness on the palate with a smidgen of grapefruit. Very creamy. 施慧娜（葡萄酒大師M.W.） 4 bts (4 owc) Please note that for Wine and Spirits Lots, the Buyer’s Premium rate is 24% of the Hammer Price and the Overhead Premium rate is 1% of the Hammer Price. The Impeccable Burgundy Collection Part III

Krug 1995 Levels into the neck, 3 individual coffrets inside 3-magnum original carton In 2019 and from magnum, magnificent. Big, winey, grapey and walnutty, with huge freshness and impact - it had been stored chez Krug until 2017. On New Year's Day 2020 and from bottle, all-powerful, all-pervasive nose, rich and Krug-esque. On the palate, silky/lanolin/vanillin and a huge mouthful, with that orange peel and honey flavour that shows majestic maturity. In 2021, full and mouth filling, now definitely a 'food Krug'. Vine | Fine Wines from France and Beyond featuring A Great Cellar

Krug 1996 Excellent levels and appearance, individual coffrets within oc On its 20th birthday (oh, that it was also mine!), still stupendously impressive, a monumental Krug and the last year when Paul Krug was part of the tasting team. I always thought that it might bear a resemblance to the legendary 1928 when it was at a similar age. It has that great tension between ripeness and acidity that is a mark of 1996, plus vinosity and power, icy orange zests and seamless silk. Sleek structure in liquid form. Krug Collection 1985 Metal plate slightly oxidized, OWC packed in damp-stained OC Pinot Noir 48%, Chardonnay 30%, Meunier 22%. In 2022, there is first the nutty bouquet that immediately shows the huge personality and character of this vintage chez Krug. On the palate, it is tremendous, luscious, almost sweet, ending on orange zests. The succulence is superb, with the heavy silk texture of 1985 at this level, a real patina. Opulence and golden raisins, originality and yet like coming home. So mouth-coating and majestic. One of the greats. Krug 2002 In individual original gift cartons within an original outer carton On New Year's Eve 2020, that glorious, concentrated, all-pervasive bakery and orange zest bouquet. On the palate, the citrus fruit turns more to candied lemon. Finesse of texture, depth of flavour and the ability to 'talk' to you. Nougatine on the finish, plus a rapturous sign-off of sheer intensity. 施慧娜（葡萄酒大師M.W.） 6 bts (oc) Provenance The majority of the wines were purchased on release or direct from producers.
