Paul de Lamerie Indenture tripartite, accomplished in clerical hand, signed by Paul de Lamerie, John Fawdery, Ann Fawdery, and John Julliot, with red wax seal impressions of all four signatories, 19 February 1728/29, two conjoined vellum membranes (folded 77.5 x 65.3 cm), contemporary endorsements; natural flaws to vellum, old fold marks. Matted, glazed and framed (82.6 cm. by 93.3 cm). Paul de Lamerie, the "greatest silversmith working in England in the 18th century" (V&A), manages his complex financial network. This document acknowledges the payment of £130 to de Lamerie as part of a much wider set of debts and obligations between Fawdery, Julliot and de Lamerie. Both Paul de Lamerie and John Fawdrey are described as goldsmiths in the document as they were members of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths. The document refers to the mortgages of properties in Gloucestershire. De Lamerie also owned 48 properties in the area of Soho where he lived and worked.
