C. A.P.' in ink verso the complete set of 45 etchings, including 39 bound and six loose (as issued) on Hodgkinson handmade wove paper, with title page, text, table of contents and justification, contained in the original blue leather-covered portfolio box, boards and slipcase each sheet (approx.): 455 by 309 mm. 18 by 12¼ in. overall: 477 by 325 by 48 mm. 18⅞ by 12⅝ by 1⅞ in. Norman Mailer declined his invitation, but his "letter refusing seemed such a good model for Polite Rejection" that it was published as his contribution.
