Gallerie d'Italia Piazza Scala

Milan | Italy

About the Museum

The Gallerie di Piazza Scala in Milan, together with the Gallerie di Palazzo Leoni Montanari in Vicenza and the Gallerie di Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano in Naples, constitute the Gallerie d’Italia, a network of cultural and museum hubs belonging to Intesa Sanpaolo in Italy. These historical palazzi, which formerly housed banking institutions located in the heart of the city, have now been converted into exhibition venues where the Intesa Sanpaolo's art collections can be shared with the public. Cultural activities held here include temporary exhibitions, educational workshops, seminars, conferences, and musical events all aiming to engage with the local community on a regular basis.

The collection of Gallerie di Piazza Scala displays Nineteenth and Twentieth Century works as well as Contemporary art. Within the setting of Piazza della Scala is the Palazzo Brentani, Palazzo Anguissola Antona Traversi and the former Banca Commerciale Italiana, which houses the treasure trove of the Gallerie d'Italia Piazza Scala's art collections.
