Inscribed with poems written by the Qianlong Emperor, this highly important handscroll depicts ten landscapes by the emperor’s favourite artist Qian Weicheng. Recently rediscovered after a hundred years, the scroll was originally kept in the Forbidden City and handed down until the Last Emperor Puyi in the 1920s. ‘Ten Auspicious Landscapes of Taishan’ is a highlight of Sotheby’s upcoming sales in Hong Kong.
