Sotheby’s upcoming sale: Erotic: Passion & Desire on 15 February, tells the rich and evocative story of erotic art through time, in a celebration of human sexuality in many forms: sculpture, drawings, paintings, antiquities and photography.
Following on from the success of last year, Sotheby’s has continued to collaborate with luxury lingerie brand Coco de Mer. In 2017, their International Brand Ambassador, Pamela Anderson, added her voice to the panel discussion around eroticism in the digital age.

This year, Coco de Mer introduces artist and fashion photographer Rankin, who is synonymous with portraiture, fashion and the depiction of popular culture: he is widely held to be one of the most renowned fashion and portrait photographers in the world. He's particularly well known for his work on the human form and three of his evocative portraits will appear in the auctions. These are: And God Created Eva II, 2003, Pin Me Up, 2012 and Stefani Reclining, 2016.

Co-founder of iconic magazine Dazed & Confused — a leading voice in fashion and creativity that developed a cult following — Rankin has for decades been a creative force at the point where art, fashion and politics meet, working on major campaigns for global brands like Nike while seeking to challenge conventional ideas of beauty in his work.
