About the Museum
Founded in 2012, Titanic Belfast is a monument to Belfast’s maritime heritage and it situated on the site of the former Harland & Wolff shipyard in the city’s Titanic Quarter where the RMS Titanic was built. The museum tells the story of the ill-fated Titanic, which hit an iceberg and sank during its maiden voyage in 1912, as well as its sister ships RMS Olympic and HMHS Britannic. The building is home to galleries with a variety of themes, including Boomtown Belfast, The Shipyard, The Launch, The Maiden Voyage, The Sinking, The Aftermath, Myths and Legends, and many more. The museum uses artifacts, reconstructions, and interactive, multimedia exhibits to tell these stories.
