About the Museum
An unmissable landmark in downtown Austin, The Contemporary Austin Jones Center is a leading institution for contemporary art in Texas and beyond. It seeks to engage the public through its ambitious exhibitions, special commissions, education programmes and innovative public art projects. A 2016 renovation greatly increased the museum’s display space and capacity to house large-scale work, and introduced the open-air Moody Rooftop pavilion for events, screenings and performances. Recent exhibitions have focused on artists such as Do Ho Suh, Tom Sachs, Robert Therrien and Marianne Vitale. The Contemporary Austin's second site at Laguna Gloria, while sharing the same mission, presents contemporary art in a unique outdoor setting.
